This Will Amuse You

Hellos! For those of you who had to go to school this week, I don't know about you, but I am awfully happy today because we're finally done for the week. Also, I had pizza for lunch which is always a plus. Okay if you haven't figured it out, I'm pretty random but I know you all need that in your life so you're very welcome. Here are some fun facts about Leti and me so you can learn new things everyday. There's no HiKoi this week so I won't be able to see all your lovely faces, but have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!

-Charmaine :)

Leticia:

1. When I was a kid I really enjoyed pretending that I worked in a library.
2. I don't like pets or kids.
3. I'm addicted to reading the New York Times.
4. My food weaknesses are carbs, ice-cream, and dumplings.
5. Mindy Kaling is my BFF.
6. I like wrapping presents and splurging on expensive ribbons and wrapping paper.
7. For a brief period of time in high school, I gave piano lessons to Melissa Chow. She was really quiet.
8. In junior high I shipped Justin Lee and his now wife, Denise. I was THRILLED when they got together.
9. When we were kids, Katie Wong and I used to pretend we were Peter Pan characters. I was Nana, the dog, and she was Michael.
10. I'm an excessive worrier, so I try and take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11 and Matthew 6:25-27.

2. I've been going on missions trips with my family over the summer since 2004.

3. My history teacher in 7th grade once called me Charlemagne when he was passing out papers and the name stuck for the rest of the year. So I'm basically royal.
4. This lady stopped me at Daiso to ask me about a bowl because she thought I was a worker there.

7. Chicken nuggets are amazing.
8. So are pizza and mac & cheese.
9. I can still fit into my fifth grade graduation shirt.

Shoeboxes everywhere!

ICYMI:

We started the night with MEAT the Freshmen and the Sophomores and burritos! Then we had prayer with Nathan and community time to share our thanksgivings and how we experienced God this past week! Enoch gave a wonderful testimony about his walk as a Christian and also attempted a British accent... (A+ for the effort!!)

During small groups we spent time packing and praying for the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child! Thank you for bringing items in to pack those shoeboxes!!

In other news, WiRe planning continues this Sunday in the HiKoi room after 2nd service!

Come to the next Baptism to support your fellow youth! November 30th!

A Night with Acteens and RAs!

ICYMI:

Tonight, we got a chance to combine fellowships with Acteens and RAs!! After a time of prayer and worship, we played the Chanting Game! First team out was "Let Us Pray" (boooo.....) and the winners of the night were Team "Now Let's Pray" and "Kev-in Wong"!

We were privileged to hear a testimony from Emmy who was able to pass out shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child in Philippines last year! Don't forget to prepare for next week's OCC box assembly! Bring items to fill your boxes! Ask your SG leader if you are not sure what to bring!

Last, we got together with our small groups to eat lots of food! :)

Announcements:

1. ATTN: OUR FIRST WIRE PLANNING MEETING is THIS Sunday, November 16, 2014 RIGHT AFTER Sunday School in the HiKoi room!! (I forgot if lunch is provided... But ASK Bradley Wong, your WiRe Director!) Please come to help plan!

2. MEAT! Freshmen and Sophomores! Come next week at 6:30 to enjoy the company of your fellow underclassmen and eat great food! :) RSVP to Melissa or Jonny ASAP!

3. MEMBERSHIP! Please pray about membership and turn in your forms as soon as possible with $5 application fee! Remember: membership must be renewed every year!

Hi there yalls. how have your weeks been? that time has come to get to know the pairing of Tracey and Nikki! :)

Fun Facts and Questions:

- the breakfast food that represents you and why?
Nikki: i think that the best breakfast food that represents me are waffles just because i like to eat them. especially mochi waffles:) yum

Tracey: Hmm...maybe a breakfast burrito, because I have a lot of different interests/passions & they're all wrapped up into one person

-your favorite geometric shape and why?
Nikki: my favorite geometric shape would be the circle because it is round like myself. haha :) also it is the perfect foundation to a beautiful smiley face

Tracey: The dodecahedron - because it's fun to say and I think it's pretty cool that 12 pentagons fit together perfectly
File:Dodecahedron.gif

- something embarrassing that happened to you recently?
Nikki: i slipped and fell in front of most of the student body at school

do i look sad enough? sorry i tried :)

Tracey: On Wednesday at lunch, I was eating chow mein and I accidentally flung a noodle towards the next table with my fork...and it landed in a woman's hair. All while the guy sitting across the table from her was watching (so I had to own up to it...)

- three songs that youve been listening to this week?
Nikki: recently i have been listening to k-indie so i dont really know the song name in english
Tracey: How about 2 albums: Cathedrals by Tenth Avenue North and the soundtrack for Pippin (which I got to see last week!)

-a favorite memorable hi koi moment?
Nikki: i dont think i have a very memorable moment yet but i do know a very memorable person [cough cough cw]
Tracey: Helping with the wills/love & encouragements books for Senior Honor Night (which don't really exist anymore...some of you probably don't even know what I'm talking about) and doing TONS of collating with a bunch of the girls in my grade just hours before SHN started
(This is not SHN...) My grade when 7 of us got baptized!

- one way hikoi has influenced my spiritual growth?
Nikki: i think hikoi has influenced my spiritual growth in many aspects one of which is to have the understanding that i am not alone in the walk with strengthening my relationship with God
Tracey: I was asked to be devos director senior year, but I was not very confident in my public speaking abilities and felt really inadequate...but that forced me to rely on God and not my own abilities, which led to me having more trust in God and not my own abilities. God's power is made perfect in weakness! (see 2 Corinthans 12:9)

Part of my Harvest Festival devo. We had 8 stations each with a different kind of candy.

- if we had to describe ourselves in 3 words what would they be?
Nikki: i am Nikki
Tracey: overthinking this question

- if you could visit any place in the world where would you go?
Nikki: i would go to Seoul, Korea

Tracey: Hmm...ooh, somewhere where the Northern Lights are visible

-what can you always be found with?
Nikki: clothes? haha ;)
Tracey: Um...a song stuck in my head

fun facts :
Nikki:my favorite color is lilac
i love to bake

i also love to take obnoxious pictures on snapchat

Tracey:In college, our large group planning team once went ice blocking (sliding down hills on blocks of ice)...it's like sledding but the sled is frozen instead of the ground

I like doing the LA Times crossword puzzles, but usually I can only finish on Mondays and Tuesdays

I've seen Dr. Dre in person twice
