In case you missed it :D
We started the night with prayer led by Nathan. We practiced using the one sentence that can make our prayer lives better by asking: "How can I pray for you?" Then, community time was led by Melissa. After introducing ourselves, we said what we would want to change about this past week and our pet peeves. In our community time groups, we played a game to get to know our counselors better. By the way, Chris doesn't like grainy watermelon and Dan has wavy hair :O crazy, right?
Afterwards, Jonny unveiled the theme for the 2014-2015 HiKoi year and it was good. :) haha get it? "Unveiled"? The theme focuses on how we all cover ourselves with a veil to hide our sin and shame, but we should take off our veil to expose ourselves and be honest. The theme verse is Psalm 80:18-19 which says:
"Then we shall not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name. O Lord God of hosts, restore us; cause your name to shine upon us and we will be saved."
Then, we headed off to our last night of pseudo groups. I'm not so sure how other groups went, but Wendy's "newlywed" game was spicy XD If you are ever looking for that special someone, Denise can use her amazing matchmaking gift to find your match. Nelson's group played King Elephant, challenging the coordination skills in everyone. Simeon led a game of Ping Pong Question which seems like it involves a lot of interrogations. Nikki brought out the chinese in all of us by leading a chopstick relay. Ernest's group played with words in a game of Adverbs. Charmaine's packing tape game sounds half dangerous and half hilarious. Kristy's group played Banana Pass, which sounds like it was super fun. Edwin's group made people turn against each other as they tried to discover the assassin among them in Assassin Wink. To end the night, every group had food. and who doesn't like food?
Make sure to come on Friday as we go deeper into what being "unveiled" means and have our first week of small groups!
